Which relevance can posters claim today in the current media and communication landscape? This work polemicises this condition, and proposes a direction towards the tradition of decorative painting in art.

Its motiv references the influential Peacock-Room by James Abbott McNeill Whistler, which he produced from 1876-1877. Whistler also sued the art critic John Ruskin in 1877 for a unfavourable review of his work Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket, which lead to a famous exchange about the nature of art in the courtroom.
