A show about our angle on design and visual culture, curated by Hannes Schmidt and Oliver Klimpel - set in the pavilion in the midst of the beautiful park on Freundschaftsinsel.
For two months, the pavilion on the Freundschafts-Island in Potsdam
became an event and exhibition platform of the System-Design Class from
the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig. A new generation of designers
presented works from the last few years and turns the Kunstverein into a
space, in which design, art and matters of display were negotiated and
The exhibition was accompanied by a programme of talks, presentations and discussions.
Overlaps and contradictions between a conceptual or speculative approach in graphics, and dealings with the intricacies of commissioned work and designer-client-relationships were important aspects, as well as productive reflections and research about our daily visual culture and its history.
